Saint-Gobain Surface Conditioning's calcined aluminas are processed single platey crystals with tunable phase and physical properties. Our calcined aluminas are manufactured from high-quality calcined alumina feed stock and designed with tight particle size distributions for an optimal scratch-free finish. For the ultimate finish, we offer a wet processed product that further reduces the degree of primary crystal agglomeration.

Calcined alumina offers a lower-cost option to our premium seeded-gel alumina while maintaining relatively high polishing rates and good surface finish. The platey shape and hardness of this abrasive grain allows it to perform well when lapping harder materials.
