Saint-Gobain Surface Conditioning Relocates Mesh Diamond and cBN Production to China for a More Sustainable Supply Chain

Saint-Gobain Surface Conditioning is proud to announce that it is making a transition to more sustainable production of its mesh diamond and cBN products. This move is in line with the company's objective to become carbon neutral by 2050. As part of this transition, Saint-Gobain Surface Conditioning is relocating its mesh diamond and cBN production to its facility in China.

"The move to China will not only help us reduce our carbon footprint, but it will also benefit our company's valued customers. As many of Saint-Gobain's customers also share ambitious goals in reducing their carbon footprint, optimizing transportation is an important step towards this goal." said Sophie Poizeau, General Manager.

By processing its products locally, Saint-Gobain Surface Conditioning will be closer to its suppliers and able to take care of logistics for its mesh diamond and cBN directly from China. This will result in reducing shipping distances for customers in Asia and Europe, improving lead times, and enhancing the reliability of logistics.

The relocation of the mesh diamond and cBN production was carefully planned by the Saint-Gobain team in the US and in China and was globally managed by the product manager for nearly a year. The team in China has been trained to maintain the same high-quality standards that customers have come to expect.

Relocating this production represents a concrete action towards achieving sustainability goals by decreasing carbon footprint.
