Coolants for Semicon
Fixed Abrasive Wire Slicing Coolants
Saint-Gobain Surface Conditioning AmberCut™ DWC coolants are synthetic coolants specifically formulated for the cutting of semiconductor materials, including sapphire, silicon, germanium, single-crystal SiC and II-VI crystals, using a fixed abrasive wire. The AmberCut DWC line provides excellent cut rates and imparts outstanding surface finishes with reduced warp and TTV.
AmberCut DWC coolants offer superior dispersion of kerf particles and cooling of the cut zone, with extended use life that allows the slicing of multiple ingots while maintaining performance properties. The unique formula is biodegradable, water rinseable and will not leave films or residues.
Synthetic Slicing / Grinding Coolant
AmberSlice™ 202A is a completely synthetic, water soluble coolant formulated for slicing and grinding. This unique formula contains very low levels of anion and cation contaminants such as chloride, fluoride, nitrate, phosphate, calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium, making it excellent for use in highly technical applications. AmberSlice 202A also combines a special corrosion protection package with a broad spectrum biocide to provide outstanding system protection. Recommended uses include ID sawing and edge grinding of silicon wafers and other ceramic materials.
Synthetic Grinding Coolant
AmberCut 685E is a synthetic, grinding coolant specifically formulated for the grinding of sapphire, silicon carbide, germanium, glass and II-VI crystals. AmberCut 685E improves wheel life and reduces wheel wear. It facilitates excellent removal rates, uses very low grinding force, and imparts excellent surface finishes. AmberCut 685E offers superior dispersion of kerf particles and cooling of the grinding zone. Additionally, coolants made with AmberCut 685E exhibit extended use life allowing the wheel to grind multiple wafers while maintaining consistent performance properties. This unique formula is biodegradable, water rinseable and will not leave films or residues.
